In Shinto teachings, the Mitama represent the four aspects of the human spirit. Kushimitama represents intelligence and rationality and is thus the source of wisdom, intelligence, clarity, and other related emotions. It is said to bring good luck in health and recovery.

In Nocturne they can be fused with a demon to boost Vitality, Agility and learn some defensive skills.
