In Shinto teachings, the Mitama represent the four aspects of the human spirit. Sakimitama represents joy and optimism and is the source of love, happiness, and other related emotions. It is said to bring good luck in hunting and fishing.

In Nocturne they can be fused with a demon to boost Vitality, Luck and learn some mid-level skills.
In the Digital Devil Saga series you do a field hunt, running around in an area attacking weaker demons until they appear. When defeated, they leave a large amount of AP.
