Title: Shin Megami Tensei 2
Post by Deckhard on 04/16/08 at 02:19:27

I've been playing Shin Megami Tensei 2 using Re-Miel's FAQ. It's been very useful, but Re-Miel didn't mention how to fuse the Majin race (Ghost Q, Matador, Toki No Okina...). My English is by far not as bad as my Japanese (I don't speak any Japanese at all). Could anybody tell me how to fuse those demons (or where to find them) and which are the restrictions for races in the neutral path (which demons won't join me, and which I can not fuse)? Thanx! :exclamation

You can't.

? Wha?  ;D You mean I can't fuse them? What can I do? Find them? Where?

You cannot fuse Majin, and unless you complete the game and enter a secret dungeon you can only encounter tile in specific small areas.

I've already finished it... I destroyed YHWH and that's it... No New Game+ option. Are we talking about the same version of the game? I'm playing that "Super Famicon" fan translated version. Where is that dungeon? Which small areas?

There's an extra dungeon after beating the game... Kongou-shinkai. I forget how it was accessed.

I'm playing too and want to collect all of Masakados' parts. Where do I find them!?

You have to visit those small shinto shrines. There are total five of them. Four of them are close to each other, but the fifth is near the enterance to the mine where you fought Beetleguice (I think). You can collect the head from some guy in the cathedral (Holytown). Bring all the six parts to the mutant guy who told you about it. After that, Masakado will open the enterance to that cave for you.

Hey Aleph, thanks for the tips. Do you remember whereabout the four close ones are? I've been running around but can't find them!

Closest thing to a decent walkthrough you'll get.

Two of them are down in Roppongi. Just go outside and check the whole map, you'll find them (they are pretty small). The next two are "one floor up" on the world map. The last one wasn't near Beetleguice, that was a mistake. You know that tunnel which connects Center and Valhalla? There's an elevator. Use it, and go to the world map. You find the fifth shrine there (you have to use de-stone inside the shrine). THANX ISAO!

Yeah finally got them all. Why do they have to make the shrines hard to get to (especially the torso and the head), then make dungeons inside of them!?! Well, now I'm up to the point where I have to enter the Abyss.
Any more looonngg fetch quests to look forward to?

Does anyone have some in depth gamefaq of the game? I'm collecting all the demons in the game. Few are missing in my devil database.
B.t.w. Tallgeese was right. I actually accessesed that secret dungeon.

Hey Aleph, how did you access Kongou Shikai? I'm pretty close to beating the game.
Here are some maps of the area, hope they help!

You have to beat the game first. Save your game on both slots. Now, use one of them and finish the game. Don't touch the other one. After beating the game load the other one, return to Shinjuku, go outside on the world map. Southeast from the Shinjuku enterance should be one of those mutant guys. Talk to him and he'll teleport you Kongou Shikai.

Thanks for the quick reply Aleph. How is the demon collecting going?

Have you run into any of the random encounter demons? I beat Hell Biker but I don't know how to fuse him.
Also, does anyone know anything about the other unknown demons featured here? Specifically, how do you meet Toki no Okina, Ghost Q, and Alice?

I think, I got them all. However, that's only possible on the chaos path. I also met Hellbiker in the Cathedral once (chances of meeting Majin normaly in the game are 1/256, and that only happens on specific locations). You can't fuse the Majin. The only think you can do is fight them (even your devil analyzer won't memorize them, so you won't be able to summon them via the Bronce Box). The only place where you can fight them for sure is Kongou. You need 25 in your Luck stat (your basic luck, not powered up via gems) to get the door open where the Majin spawning point is. After beating the first majin, exit Kongou and enter it again. Now, the Majin are respawned. They very rarely drop staffs, but I cheated via the emulator savestats (it took me about half an hour to get them) and got two of them. The best staff is the one dropped by Ghost Q. It's the strongest weapon in the game. However, I still think that the Hinokagutsuchi is more useful. It's weaker, but it inflicts stone status and boosts your skills much better than anything else. Ghost Q's staff inflicts close.

P.S. I almost forgot... the savestat you are using to enter Kongou has to be before entering Eden. Otherwise, you won't be able to leave Eden and return to Shinjuku. The latest point in the game for the savestat should be right after Keter Castle (or after beating Kuzuryuu on the neutral path).

For the first alignment decision (right after the first Daleph fight), what's the decision tree supposed to look like?
Like what alignment is each path supposed to head towards?
The 3 paths being No;
Yes,No;
Yes,Yes

I've tried all 3, but I was still lawful afterwards every time, and I'm trying to get to neutral).

At the beginning of the game if you choose to name the characters by yourself, your alignment will shift a little bit towards chaos (although you can still call them by their default names, the important thing is that you name them yourself). That's actually the only way to become neutral after the first Daleth fight. Or you could visit the Gaia church over and over again and spent your money there. After a long time, you should become neutral or even chaotic.

Ah, thanks. So that's why it took so long to get to Neutral (along with forcing Puck to gimme 10k macca)

Speaking of which, just got to Akasaka after getting Hiroko back. What's a good place to grind for some magnetite? As I'm down to 14k and it feels nowhere near enough of a supply.

Get used to it. It's going to be like that almost all the time. Try some place with plenty of dark monsters (somewhere in Makai for example).

Well, damn, seeing as I'm not near that yet...

I'll have to grind Workaholics from Bronze Boxes from the Roppongi casino then

Hmm, is there some requirement for slime fusion to work correctly, or it's just borked in the translated rom?

For example, if I try to fuse Parvati with Slime to get a Parvati with better HP/MP, the 25% bonus only goes to her *current* HP/MP instead of max. And she loses her Mabufula, which is just weird.
Then I tried fusing Slime with a few other demons (Seiten Taisei, Barong, Kotoshironushi); they don't lose any skills, but the 25% bonus only went to their current HP/MP too.

Hmmm, I don't know. Could be a glitch in the game (I see no reason why Parvati should lose her skill). Just heal them before fusing and it should be fine (although I think it's a glitch too). Someone else should provide a better answer, because I actually never fused my demons with slimes. I always left them as they are.

In principle, release two tablet models, one with Windows RT and one with Windows 8 , ie a first prepared for the ARM architecture and one that will work with Intel processors. The first tablet weighs 676 grams and will be 9.3 mm thick, while the second will have 903 grams and 13.5 mm wide. The model with Windows 8will have a more powerful battery, up to 128 GB (up to 64 GB up to the other version) and connections as micro SDXC, USB 3.0 and Mini DisplayPort video. The screen in both cases is 10.6 inches in size and ClearType HD Display.

Microsoft has sought to differentiate by design with the introduction of the tablet. Surface touch pad includes a thin 3 mm has been called ‘Touch Cover’ , and also allows the realization of gestures using a trackpad.Besides keyboard, it is also a cover that protects the tablet and which is fixed to magnetically screen.
