Wish they'd advertise it more if it is, so people can actually realize it IS coming out. (well if it IS FES).

Unlike DVDs and CDs, there is no "game release day". I worked at EB for a few years, trust me games can come out any day of the week. I think recently Professor Layton came out on a Sunday (which is pretty unusual, weekdays are more common, as shipping is more expensive on the weekends).

Also, I don't think they would be counting down for a game release in a week. It more likely would be an announcement that they plan to release the game state side in a week.

Probably, but games are generally released on Tuesdays or is that movies... *shrugs* maybe both now. There's always those that break the 'rules' but there's a kind of standard nowadays, personally I used to work at Gamestop (not too long after they changed over) but I can't remember really releasing anything while I was there.

In any case, we'll know in a week what the timer's for.

I don't think it will be all that related to the anime or Persona 3. Persona 1 only had mild connections to 2, and 3 had only hinted at connections with 1 & 2. It's not like they are calling it Persona 3 part 2 or something (at least so far). So I am going to imagine it's another game that may use much of the established battle system of 3 (but altering it a bit) with a whole new plot.

By your own reasoning though, the anime is only loosely affiliated with Persona 3 as it stands (even if it is '10 years later in a different town' and there's Apathy Syndrome). Persona 2 even had playable characters from P1, so I'd have to say that's just as big a tie in between the games. Besides, what better way to cash in on the advertisement of the anime?

In Japan at least there are two versions, a stand alone, and one you have to use the save data from P3 (or the P3 disk, how that works I'm not to sure).

My guess is we will only get the stand alone, because they stand to chance to sell more copies of that.
