If it was, does that mean YHVH is pretty much dead, and Lucifer is the new "YHVH"? Does humanity make a comeback or are we fucked? What about those twitchy Mannikins? Does a nuke explode? Yeah, there's a lot of ambiguity about it.

Maybe this is what SMT IV will be about. I'm not really sure how to think things ended. The opening title screen leads me to believe that if they didn't win against YHVH, they sure dealt one hell of a blow to him.

I'm trying to think back on the rules about the Conception and such. The True Demon ending is basically stating that the Vortex World is either the last frontier of existence, and the Demi-fiend rules it or is Lucifer's "General". That, or once YHVH has been defeated, Lucifer uses his powers to start his own world. I don't know if Lucifer even has this sort of power, especially with Kagutsuchi gone.

I'd actually kind of like to see SMT IV to continue off from the True Demon ending.

True Demon was the canon ending according to....someone. I forget japanese names easily.

As for how they'll deal with it in SMT4, well, why not go out to the store to buy it and find out how they dealt wit it.

No, it's an actual SMT game. It wasn't called 4 because someone (Kaneko?) didn't want to bother numbering it. I forgot the reason why. There probably wont be an smt game on any of the current gen consoles either. It was mentioned that "for the sort of game SMT is, the DS is the best place for it."

I'll try and source this stuff when I get home from work maybe.

That persona junk will make it to the next gen no doubt. Probably any spin offs they make will too. As for actual SMT games, we've probably already got ours for the next 5 years, at minimum. Who knows what the next one will be on if they decide to make another.
