Attack of The Killer Tomatoes?!  Grin Horrible movie. Ichi the Killer is as bad as a movie could be. And some people could tear me apart for this, but I think Apocalypse Now and Memento are two of the worst movies ever. They're so boring. I heard something about James Cameron making the Battle Angel Alita movie. I hope it won't end like other movies made after video games. But somehow, I'm sure he'll blow it.

You mean comic? Also, Cameron seems competent enough, and movies about robots are something he seems familiar with, so I'd say he's got a better chance then others.

Yes, but somehow I don't think he'll make the atmosphere dark enough. Cameron only makes blockbusters. Battle Angel Alita is a very sad story, and sad stories rarely earn money. I think Ridley Scott would make it much better if he had enough freedom with the scenario. The best example is "Alien" and "Aliens". Alien was directed by Ridley Scott, it was a pure horror movie for adults. Aliens however was directed by Cameron. It was an action-sf movie with tons of action and special effects, much closer to the stereotypical audience (and Battle Angel Alita is everything else but stereotypical). I think the producers changed the director only for commercial reasons.

Alien was good, but Aliens felt like the next step. In my opinion, who cares if the Alita movie turns out not to fan expectations? Nothing changes really. Its not like you animus and mangos will catch fire if you watch it, leaving you with nothing but a movie that "didn't do it the way I wanted them to do it."

what could/would this said hidden agenda be? Forrest Gump may be over hyped a tad bit but's it's a good movie

Forrest Gump represents Christian Conservatism and Jenny Curran represents the counterculture of the 1960s.The movie shows that living by faith and following others without question is better than thinking for yourself and questioning authority.Forrest, a Christian who follows a very conservative lifestyle and obeys what others said to him ends up a billionaire with a lot of friends and a national war hero.  Roll Eyes While Jenny, a hippie, embraced countercultural values and look what happens to her, she gets abused, becomes homeless for awhile, has humiliating jobs and died of AIDS. LOL

Oh and I was joking about my favorite movies being Radio and Patch Adams...those two movies are thrash.  Grin

Alright, there are plenty of dirty, homeless and disease-ridden hippies. But, how is it that a retarded guy becomes a Vietnam war hero, national ping-pong champion, John Lennon's muse and the CEO of a large shrimping boat company by blindly following the advice of others no matter how stupid it might be.Forrest is a model Christian who is completely dependent on others giving him orders and lives a happy, successful life. While Jenny, someone whose cultural values deviant from the norm, thinks for herself and is independent becomes a druggie and dies an early death.

Aliens the next step? OK, whatever. Totally different step I'd say (into action movies). You don't need special effects and tons of action to make a great movie (take Smoke for example). And that's exactly what Cameron is doing. He'll probably do the same with Alita. My only hope is that he's one of those animus and mangos you are talking about.

So, how much time do you have on your hands to piece all of that together? Also, some other favorite movies are Talledega Nights, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Spawn, Star Wars and The Batman movies. 30 Days of Night was okay too

I spend most of my time looking out for The Man in a fortified room in my parent's basement.  Cool Everything in the media has truth hidden behind it you just don't know since the ruling class has brainwashed you. Wink I can find the real truth in anything, Did you know I'm utterly insane?  Grin

Not really. I've got plenty of ex-hippies in my family. They all settled down into a snug middle/upper class existence after 5 or 6 years of rebeling. Everyone sells out in the end.

Forest gump is crap though. Movies like Fear and Loathing, Chicago 10, Steal this movie, Easy Rider etc are so much better.

Exactly the point. You have to 'sell out' sometime to be successful.

Unless, of course, you start out rich. Then half the time you just cruise through life.

Now I wouldn't say I was brainwashed.  and congrats on insanity my friend. The MAN is not trying to brainwash you, the devil is not hiding in the Stairway To Heaven songs and Russian midgets do not run the world from a motel complex in Texas lol(sorry, just had to throw in the midget reference
